Moon Turkish multi-hole bowl — 13–18 g load for open-draw flavour control
In simple terms: this is a traditional Turkish-style shisha bowl with multiple holes across the base. You pack 13–18 g of tobacco, stretch foil on top, and heat it with 26 mm coconut cubes on the rim. The multiple holes let air move quickly for a classic, open pull, while the dense clay spreads heat evenly so flavour stays clean. If you want a straightforward, foil-driven setup with predictable heat and an easy draw, this is the bowl.
We brought in Moon’s Turkish because it delivers that free, café-style airflow with modern finishing. Handmade in Russia and tuned for foil, it holds roughly 13–18 g and keeps the heat curve stable under coconut cubes. Colours are assorted — every glaze is unique.
What sets it apart
- Open, classic pull from a Turkish multi-hole profile — fast airflow for responsive heat.
- Approx. 13–18 g capacity — efficient daily mixes without overpacking.
- Dense clay blend — spreads heat evenly to keep flavour clear when coals sit on the rim.
- Foil-optimised rim — easy heat control with 26 mm coconut cubes.
- Handmade & hand-glazed in Russia — each bowl has its own character; colours ship at random.
Fit & compatibility
Best with heavy-duty foil and 26 mm coconut cube charcoal. Most HMDs don’t seat ideally on this rim — use foil for the most consistent results.
How to dial it in
- Use heavy-duty foil pulled tight; punch a dense, even pattern over the face.
- Start with 2 × 26 mm cubes on the rim; add a third outdoors or if heat fades.
- Pack level and airy for blonde-leaf; slightly denser for dark-leaf. Leave 1–2 mm clearance under the foil.
- Rotate coals every 6–8 minutes; tap ash before you add heat.
Craft & performance
Compared with phunnel bowls, the Turkish layout gives a freer draw and snappier heat response. The clay warms evenly for steady clouds and flavour-first sessions when you manage heat on the rim.
Care & upkeep
- Let the bowl cool before rinsing; wash with warm water and a soft brush.
- Fine glaze “crazing” or slight colour bleed can appear over time — it’s material-related and normal.
Quick fixes
- Harshness: ease heat; pull coals to the edge or remove one for 30–60 sec.
- Thin clouds: ensure coals are fully lit; add a 3rd cube after 5–7 min.
- Fast browning: lighten your pack, increase foil tension, rotate coals sooner.

FAQ
- How much does it hold? Roughly 13–18 g depending on your pack.
- Foil or HMD? Foil. Most HMDs won’t seat perfectly on this rim, so foil is safer and steadier.
- Can I choose a colour? Colours are assorted; we’ll send a random glaze. Patterns vary by piece.
- Are hairline lines in the glaze a defect? No — they’re normal characteristics and won’t affect performance.
